The Mane Event to Honor Sharon Rogers

BAYTOWN – (January 27, 2015) – At this year’s Bay Area Homeless Services gala, The Mane Event, special recognition will be given to Sharon “Shay” Rogers and Sherri White, a long-time supporter of the organization.  The annual fundraiser will be held Saturday, February 28th at the Marriott Spring Hill Suites in Baytown.

To purchase individual tickets or a sponsorship package for The Mane Event, contact Laurie Terry at LATerry@houstonmethodist.org or 281-420-8459. All proceeds benefit Bay Area Homeless Services, a non-profit organization that assists homeless persons and families in attaining self-sufficient, permanent housing and return to independent living.

Sharon, a business owner and an active community member has been active in the Baytown community for many years. In 1998 Sharon’s business, Shay’s Jewelers, flooded and members of the community pitched in to help her get the store open again. After the incident, she has made an effort to give back to the Baytown community in any way that she can. She is a member of Trinity Episcopal Church and is involved in multiple civic organizations. In addition to her involvement with the Bay Area Homeless Services, she has participated with the Baytown Junior Forum, Service League of Baytown, the Baytown Rotary Club and many more.

BAHS is one of many local charities that Sharon supports on a regular basis.

“BAHS appreciates her continuous significant support of the shelter that has enabled us to help people in need,” said Pete Alfaro, president of the BAHS Board of Directors.
